Steelers vs Jets live updates: TV info, live stream, odds for preseason game
The Pittsburgh Steelers face the New York Jets in their second NFL preseason game of 2026 on Friday, Aug. 21 at Acrisure Stadium.
The matchup will be the latest showcase for young quarterbacks Will Howard and Drew Allar, who will take control of the huddle in the first and second halves, respectively.
Starter Aaron Rodgers will not play, nor will primary backup Mason Rudolph. Coach Mike McCarthy said earlier in the week that he'd seen all he needed to from Rudolph, seemingly signaling an intent to keep him on the 53-man roster later this month.

For Howard and Allar, that could mean they're competing for one spot unless McCarthy and GM Omar Khan do something unorthodox and attempt to keep all four quarterbacks into the season.
The offensive line will also be a focus after struggling in the preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers last week. Starting tackles Dylan Cook and Troy Fautanu each gave up sacks. And the running game struggled to get momentum, even as the quarterbacks had good nights in the passing game. McCarthy will want to see a bit more balance in the performances Friday night.
He'll also want to see fewer penalties. His team was flagged 11 times for 134 yards in his debut as Steelers coach, so there will be some sloppiness to clean up on both sides of the ball.
Elsewhere, rookie receivers Germie Bernard and Kaden Wetjen will look to build on encouraging NFL debuts. The former had four catches for 51 yards in the first half against the Packers, while Wetjen had two catches for 79 yards and a touchdown in the second half.
