Texans announce Zay Jones, Sterling Shepard signings; place K.C. Ossai on IR

Wide receivers Zay Jones and Sterling Shepard are officially members of the Texans.

The team announced their signings on Saturday afternoon. They also announced that they have placed defensive end K.C. Ossai on injured reserve.

Jones and Sterling were signed after Jayden Higgins tore his ACL this week and will join Nico Collins, Tank Dell and others in the receiving corps for Houston.

Jones had 12 catches for 83 yards with the Cardinals last season. He has also played for the Jaguars, Raiders and Bills.

Shepard spent the last two seasons with the Buccaneers and had 39 catches for 371 yards and a touchdown in 2025. He spent eight years with the Giants before moving on to Tampa.

Ossai was in training camp with the Texans last year and spent time on Miami's practice squad during the regular season.
