The Miami Dolphins are gearing up for their final preseason contest taking place this Friday against the Atlanta Falcons. One player who has missed a week of work returned to action today. Quinn Ewers - Miami's second-string quarterback who sat out last Saturday's game against the New York Giants due to injury - returned to practice for the Dolphins on Monday.

Ewers suffered a groin injury during Miami's first preseason contest - a 20-7 loss against the Washington Commanders in which Ewers completed just one of eight passes for 27 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception. He earned a dismal 1.6 passer rating for his efforts.

Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski handled Miami's quarterback duties against the Giants on Saturday - with Miller finishing the game with six completions on 11 attempts, for 60 yards and no touchdowns, while Gronowski threw five passes, completing two of them for a single passing yard and no touchdowns. Neither quarterback threw an interception.

Behind starter, Malik Willis, the Dolphins are trying to sort out who would best serve the team in the backup quarterback role, but through two preseason tilts, no man has separated himself from the bunch. As such, the team may look outside of the organization for a second-string passer once cut-down day takes place this Sunday.
