The Philadelphia Eagles are signing four more players to fill out their practice squad, according to an official team announcement. This development comes one day after the team initially signed 13 practice squad players.

Here's an overview of the new additions:

  • WR Danny Gray
  • OL Kiran Amegadjie
  • CB Robert Longerbeam
  • RB Jaydon Blue

The Eagles now have 17 players on the practice squad, which is normally limited to a 16-player capacity ... but Uar Bernard is able to join on an international exemption.

Let's sort through the latest news on a player-by-player basis.

DANNY GRAY

Gray originally joined the Eagles in September 2024. He was waived by the team last July before returning to Philly's practice squad in November 2025. Gray spent the entire 2026 offseason with the Eagles. He's been a solid practice player. Totally acceptable depth option to keep around.

KIRAN AMEGADJIE

The Amegadjie (ah-muh-GAHD-jee) signing was first reported on Monday. A 2024 third-round pick (No. 75 overall) by the Chicago Bears, Amegadjie logged 123 offensive snaps as a rookie (119 at left tackle, four at left guard) over one start made in six games played. He then missed the 2025 season due to injury. Amegadjie played 104 snaps at left tackle and 13 at right tackle in the preseason this summer before the Bears waived him.

With the Eagles losing 2025 draft picks Myles Hinton and Cameron Williams to waivers, it doesn't hurt to add a new long-levered developmental tackle option. Especially with Lane Johnson potentially retiring after 2026. We'll see if Chris Kuper can help him eventuallyl fulfill his potential.

Pre-draft scouting report via NFL.com's Lance Zierlein:

With a rare blend of athletic traits and eye-popping length, it might be a mistake to bet against the high number of boxes Amegadjie checks. His hand usage is a work in progress, and he hasn't learned to consistently get into blocks with proper footwork and body control, but both issues are coachable and likely to be corrected. Provided he improves his punch-timing and placement, his ability to keep rushers at the end of his length could become a big advantage. Amegadjie already possesses impressive explosiveness as a drive blocker and could become a quality NFL starter once his tutelage is complete.

First of all, great name. I sure would hate to be Robert Longbeam.

Longerbeam, who turns 26 in January, was a fifth-round pick (No. 212 overall) by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2025 NFL Draft after playing college football at Rutgers.

He missed his entire rookie season due to a knee injury before making some noise in training camp/preseason games this summer. According to Pro Football Focus charting, Longerbeam allowed just an 84.2 passer rating while targeted in coverage. He finished the preseason as the Ravens' third-best defender by PFF grading.

In a recent roundtable article over at Baltimore Beatdown, multiple Ravens writers brought up Longerbeam as a player they were concerned about getting claimed on waivers:

DUSTIN COX: Longerbeam had a very strong preseason in his rebound from a season-ending injury that derailed his rookie season before it began last year. He deserved to make the roster, but the Ravens had too many quality cornerbacks ahead of him. Cornerback depth is of utmost importance in the NFL, so it would not surprise me to see someone claim Longerbeam.

ZACH CANTER: Lastly, cornerback Robert Longerbeam finally had a chance to show what he could do after suffering an injury during his rookie year last preseason. He showed great coverage and open field tackling ability and I think a team would be lucky to grab him as depth. But hopefully the Ravens can sneak last years draft pick back on their practice squad.

The Eagles currently have six cornerbacks on their 53-man roster: Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean (nickel CB who will also play at safety), Riq Woolen, Jonathan Jones, Kelee Ringo, and Mac McWilliams. It's easy to feel great about the starting trio of Q, Coop, and Woolen. The depth behind them is less inspiring. Jones is versatile and experienced but the soon-to-be 33-year-old missed most of training camp due to injury. Ringo is more easily trusted to help on special teams than he is to contribute on defense. It was a little surprising to see McWilliams made the roster because he struggled in the preseason games and was up and down in training camp practices.

Adding Longerbeam to the mix gives the Eagles another potential depth option. He's mostly spent time at outside corner but there's thought he could be moved inside due to his frame. Definitely worth taking a chance on his upside.

Pre-draft scouting report via NFL.com's Lance Zierlein:

Slender cornerback who is wired right" but lacks the size NFL teams typically require. Longerbeam played outside at Rutgers, but the size disadvantage likely means he'll be moving inside as a pro. He has the feet to match route breaks and good burst to close from zone. He gives some ground deep and struggles to win above the rim, though. He's a willing run supporter but the frame will only allow so much. His on-ball production and competitiveness are appealing, but teams will need to balance those elements against his size when determining his draft value.

News of the Eagles signing Blue first emerged on Monday night.

It's a little curious to see the Eagles add a third running back to the practice squad (to join Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele) while also having three on the roster (Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, and Will Shipley).

That being said, using a practice squad spot on Blue feels worthwhile. The Birds hosted him on a pre-draft visit last year before he was selected by the Dallas Cowboys with a fifth-round pick (No. 149 overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Blue played just 78 offensive snaps for the Cowboys as a rookie, logging 38 carries for 129 yards (3.4 average) and one touchdown. His sole target resulted in a five-yard reception. During the 2026 preseason, Blue produced 94 rushing yards on 23 attempts (4.1 average) in addition to two catches for 15 yards.

The Cowboys waived Blue while originally only keeping two running backs (plus one fullback) on their roster before claiming Emari Demercado off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs to be their new RB3.

Now in Philly, Blue will have a chance to develop behind the scenes.

Scouting report via NFL.com's Lance Zierlein:

Blue played behind very good backs, so his carry count is lower, but he clearly has talent. He's a narrow-hipped, linear runner with good speed to threaten wide and attack downfield out of the backfield. He has adequate wiggle in the open field but lacks base strength to break tackles. Blue's lack of tempo and vision inside gets him behind schedule and could limit how teams use him as a ball-carrier. While he can be labeled a change-of-pace slasher," his real value will revolve around his ability to mismatch linebackers and threaten defenses as a receiver out of the backfield.
