Sam Darnold will miss the Seattle Seahawks' Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals, head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters on Wednesday.
Darnold left the field against the New England Patriots early and was replaced by Drew Lock for the remainder of the game. The team released a statement on Monday night saying that the quarterback suffered a very unique soft-tissue injury" and that his hip joint was not affected.
The team's statement added that it's considered a short-term injury, but there is no definitive timeline on when Darnold might return.
Lock would go 16-for-22 with 187 passing yards and 1 touchdown during the 13-10 victory.
