It's nice to enjoy the day after. Last week it was still meltdown city the day after, which is typical overreaction to one game many fans go through - especially when the game was as ugly as that one was.

Not today, though. While the Denver Broncos couldn't get out of their own way in the first half, they came back and dominated the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second. That brings me to today's MHR Roundup topic: Favorite plays.

My favorite play came during their four-minute offense. It's rare in the NFL when you see a double-move work this well and it was so good that I initially thought the penalty on the field must have been offensive pass interference because Jaylen Waddle was so damn open.

No offensive pass interference here. Just two broken ankles.

In that situation, the play was important too because it enabled the Broncos to close out the game and shut the door on any potential comeback for Trevor Lawrence.

What was your favorite play from Sunday's game? Let us know in the comments below.

Broncos daily recap

Broncos rise to occasion; topple Jaguars in hard-fought gridiron battle

The Denver Broncos showed toughness and determination in their comeback victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Stock Up, Stock Down After the Broncos' Week 2 Comeback Win Over the Jaguars

Stock up and stock down is a weekly series where I go through the Denver Broncos roster and give you stock-ups and stock-downs on every player currently on the 53-man roster. After a bounce-back performance like that on Sunday, we are going to see a lot more stock-ups than we did last week.

Should Jonah Coleman be the Broncos' starting running back?

Not only did he look like a veteran player out there, but he also looked like a future starter.

Potent quotablesSean Payton

On how confident he is in RB Jonah Coleman's ability to handle a heavier workload if necessary

So yesterday, [RB] RJ [Harvey] was out, and then [RB] J.K. [Dobbins] got nicked up and wasn't able to finish. None of that today on Monday is at a place where we're-I think all three of those players we're discussing can be bell cow, handle a majority of the carries. Yes, I think there's a lot ahead of us this week relative to who our runners are going to be."

On how long it takes to establish an offensive identity

I think that's a great question. I think that it has to show itself. There has to be a sense of urgency. We're going to play in other games where that first half, for instance, won't get it done. So we have to have that sense of urgency so that it's clear to everybody, this is who we are. I think that's something that we're working on."

On the goal-to-go series and what happened on the third-down play

It wasn't anything good, cadence-wise, we're at the 1 [-yard line]. I would say just overall, a real bad possession."

On the impact of the crowd noise forcing Jacksonville to use multiple timeouts

It was significant. Here's when you see it's significant. When you see there's this alignment by a tight end or receiver, the quarterback looks over, tries to... So there's a communication problem relative to the formation, and twice I saw that right in front of me, and I think that's one of the plays you're referencing. So a player lines up in a different spot than the quarterback expects. There's this, Hey, there's eight seconds, we're trying to get it fixed.' I think our crowd was fantastic yesterday."

On what he saw from the tackling on film

It didn't have to be a long and exhaustive film study relative to the tackling and enough to where you can't play winning football when you're in position and you can't tackle. It's one of the three or four most important things you have to do on defense."

On if Offensive Coordinator Davis Webb is settling in and congratulating him at the end of the game

Yes, it was a fist bump. It's a sign of excitement, and we're winning the game. To your earlier point, no different than players. We're trying to get up to speed, improve, [Offensive Coordinator] Davis [Webb] the same way. I think there's that sense of urgency with everyone in the jobs they have."

On the severity of his back injury and if it's impacting his day-to-day

No, fair question. So in 2013, I had a [L4-L5], a little disc issue and it was just from too much CrossFit or working out. So that kind of calmed down and then flared up this summer. So I already had the little procedure, which is really like an injection, an epidural injection. So it really can get aggravated when you're standing for three and a half, four hours. No, there's no surgery for the back. I've got a toe issue. There are some other issues now that are [rickety], but the stress on the back can be relieved if you get into that position. That actually 13 years ago was the first time that area, your 4-5, which was a specific location that can give you more of a radiating pain than a true pain, if that makes any sense."

On if he thinks the team has built traits to compete in close games

I think in a fair response to that, I think there are two things. We know this, that if at the start of the season we're not addressing maybe some of the things that kept games a year ago close, that analytically speaking, it's hard to say you're going to repeat the same call it 11 wins that you had maybe a year ago. Now each game's different, but I also think there's a confidence level in a team that because they've won before, they've been behind before and then how do they respond? So I think on the positive side, it's that confidence having been here before, and then from a coaching perspective, Hey, how do we find a way to not be in as many one-score games or behind in one-score games going forward?' There are some specific areas that we outlined. Now that's a good team we played. That's a team that we felt on film when you watched them, even in the playoff game last year against Buffalo, that came down to a final drive. So they've done a good job there, and I think there was this feeling like that was a good football team and we knew it was going to be a hard-fought game."

#broncos Bo Nix completed 16/17 passes against four or fewer rushers for 205 yards and a TD yesterday. That's tied for the 2nd-highest completion % when not facing the blitz by any QB since 2025, per @NextGenStats

Reason why #Broncos have been such a good comeback/4Q team is Bo Nix. He's got that Elway/Tebow trait where he's markedly better when needing to catch up late.
4Q Sunday:
Nix 8 of 10, 88 yds, TD, 136.7 RTG
Lawrence 1 of 6, 28, 46.5

First 3Q: Jaguars 13-6
4Q: Broncos 14-0
