Cowboys injury report: Tyler Smith limited Monday
Photo by Ric Tapia/Getty Images | Getty ImagesBoth the offense and defense for the Dallas Cowboys could get better in the next few weeks once some of their injured players return. That could start as early as this week when the team takes on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday.
Tyler Smith, who has missed the first four games of the season on injured reserve, is eligible to return this week. Also on the other side, their opponent, the Buccaneers, are experiencing some health challenges. Here is the latest to know about the injuries for both teams.

Today's report is just an estimation although it did provide very telling information. Cornerback Cobie Durant and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown did not practice today officially with respective hamstring injuries. Durant is expected to miss more time, but the team is feeling better about Overshown's chances to play Thursday.
Also, there seems to be growing confidence that Tyler Smith could be able available against the Buccaneers. They have opened his practice window as returns from his thumb injury.
For the Buccaneers, they have announced that safety Antoine Winfield Jr. has a rib fracture and will be out for multiple weeks and was a DNP today. Baker Mayfield (thumb) didn't practice and won't play. However, first-round pick Reuben Bain (groin/shoulder) was estimated as full participation.
