"He'll be ready to play Sunday."

That was the response of Giants head coach John Harbaugh when asked about the health status of star WR Malik Nabers during a news conference on Friday afternoon.

With Big Blue set to do battle with the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium on Sunday, having Nabers on the field will be a big boost for the offense.

Nabers had his best game of the season in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals, reeling in seven catches for a season-high 112 yards and a touchdown as the Giants emerged with a hard-fought 36-24 victory, punctuated by a Deonte Banks pick-six on the game's final play.

Nabers' status was in doubt due to a sore knee, which caused him not to practice on Wednesday, but it appears he'll be good to go on Sunday.

For the Commanders, QB Jayden Daniels is expected to make his first start since Week 2 as he returns from a dislocated left elbow. Elsewhere on offense, WR Terry McLaurin is trending toward playing against the G-Men, while WR Stefon Diggs will be sidelined.

The Giants (3-1) could extend their lead atop the NFC East division standings, as it appears a golden opportunity is emerging for the team this season.

The Dallas Cowboys (2-3) lost on Thursday night to the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) are reworking their offensive line on the fly after the retirement of legendary right tackle Lane Johnson and a mid-week trade which sent starting center Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens.

"As a team, we're not really thinking about first place," Giants running back Cam Skattebo asserted on Friday. "We're thinking about going 1-0 every week."

How does Skattebo envision winning each week?

"I already told (offensive coordinator Matt Nagy), just give me the ball and we'll be fine," he said with a hearty chuckle.
