49ers LB Dre Greenlaw ejected vs. Seahawks for head-butt of Ernest Jones IV during sideline scuffle
There's little love lost between the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.
Take, for instance, Sunday's high-stakes game that produced a sideline scuffle and an ejection in the first half.
With Seattle driving in the second quarter, quarterback Sam Darnold scrambled near midfield on second-and-6. Greenlaw hit Darnold as Darnold stepped out of bounds, and the Seattle quarterback went tumbling into the Seahawks sideline.
Darnold's teammates immediately surrounded Greenlaw, and jawing ensued.
Things are getting heated between the Seahawks and 49ers.

Amid the ruckus, Greenlaw and Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV went toe-to-toe. Jones appeared to bait Greenlaw by getting in his face. Greenlaw took the bait, delivering a head butt to Jones.
Greenlaw was wearing a helmet. Jones was not.

This led to the disqualification of Greenlaw, who was also flagged for a late hit on Darnold.
The Seahawks went on to score a field goal on the drive, and the 49ers were left to play the remainder of the critical division game without a starting linebacker.
Greenlaw's been here beforeThis isn't the first time Greenlaw's lost his cool on the field.
He was ejected in 2023 from a 49ers game against the Philadelphia Eagles for a confrontation involving Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith and Eagles security chief "Big Dom" DiSandro.

Just last week, he yelled at and taunted Broncos head coach Sean Payton following San Francisco's win over Denver.
"Hey! You get the f-ck off my field!"
