Lions vs. Vikings: Live score updates, highlights, injury news

(Photo by Todd Rosenberg/Getty Images) | Getty ImagesThe Detroit Lions (4-2) and Minnesota Vikings (6-0) face off on Sunday afternoon in one of the biggest games of the week.
For the Lions, a win keeps them undefeated in the division and puts them just a game behind the lead for the NFC North. A loss would drop them three games behind the Vikings, making it a steep climb to have a chance at their third NFC North title in four years.
The Vikings hope to remain the only undefeated team left in the NFL. Given that they've already tallied wins over the Packers and Bears, a win on Sunday over Detroit would give them a commanding lead in the division. A loss, however, would open things up for everyone in the division, as every team will have a winning record regardless of what else happens in Week 8.
It will undoubtedly be a playoff-like environment at Ford Field. Heating up the matchup is the fact that the Vikings' No. 1 scoring defense is going up against the Lions' No. 2 scoring offense. Can Jared Goff continue his awesome season against the blitz or will Brian Flores' hyper-aggressive defense be too much for him to handle?

First quarterThe Lions won the toss and opted to defer, giving the Vikings offense the opportunity to have the ball first. After a touchback, Kyler Murray connected on a big play to put Minnesota in Lions territory on just one play. Tight end Ben Yurosek was wide open for a 24-yard gain. A deep shot to Jordan Addison went incomplete, setting up a third-and-7 from Detroit's 38-yard line. T.J. Hockenson nearly made a diving catch, but the ball hit the ground, setting up a 57-yard attempt, and Will Reichard pushed it right for his first (non-blocked) miss of the season.
Detroit took over at their own 47-yard line after the missed kick. It appeared the Lions were going to go three-and-out, but a roughing the passer penalty extended the drive after Jared Goff failed to connect with Amon-Ra St. Brown on third down. The refs would strike back in the Vikings favor, when after a first down conversion from Sione Vaki, St. Brown was called for taunting, pushing the Lions back toward midfield. Detroit wouldn't recover, suffering sacks on two of the next three plays, pushing them out of field goal position.
Pinned deep in their own zone, the Vikings managed just a single first down on a Jordan Mason 10-yard run. On the ensuing third down, Murray couldn't find anyone open and chucked it well over Jordan Addison's head.
