ISS astronaut shares space snaps before voyage to Earth – in pictures

Three astronauts from the International Space Station have returned to Earth safely after a 200-day mission that included hundreds of scientific experiments. One of the trio, the Expedition 43 commander Terry Virts, beamed back a series of incredible photographs charting the six-month expedition, including the pyramids of Giza and the coastal dunes of Namibia. According to Nasa, the team travelled more than 84m miles since their launch into space on 24 November
