Spanish Artist Provides Movement to Existing Street Art With Cleverly Crafted GIFs

Spanish artist A.L. Crego has created a number of amazingly playful and cleverly crafted GIFs that bring existing street art to life, providing movement to otherwise still images and contributing an alternate depth to the original piece. Crego always gets permission from the original artists and is very careful to ensure they are aware of what he's doing. In an interview with Hyperallergic, the artist spoke about his process.

It's a meditative way of watching art. "The result surprised me a lot. "We're used to watching motionless photos, and when we see some movement in them, it's unexpected. In the streets I can't make [the art] move, but in the virtual space I can give it another meaning. "I think of it as animating the walls of the internet.
