Univa Grid Engine Adds Preemption Feature to Increase Cluster Efficiency

Today Univa announced availability of its much anticipated Preemption feature for Univa Grid Engine. Preemption, in combination with Universal Resource Broker, gives users the unprecedented ability to "pause" workload, services, or containers in the system on a moment's notice in order to run a higher priority application. This is the first time a preemption feature has been able to work with big data applications.
