Alex Winter of ‘Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure’ to Direct the First Authorized Biopic About Frank Zappa

Alex Winter, the British actor who played the character Bill in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, is currently directing the first authorized biographical film about the life of the brilliantly quirky musician Frank Zappa. Zappa tragically died from prostate cancer in 1993. Winter spoke with Variety about what he wants to accomplish with the film.

There has yet to be a definitive, authorized documentary on the extraordinary life and work of Frank Zappa, I am beyond thrilled to be embarking on this journey. Our tale will be told primarily in Frank's own words; he will be our guide through this journey
