‘The Story of Kullervo’, A Previously Unpublished Story by J.R.R. Tolkien

"The Story of Kullervo" is a previously unpublished story by The Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien. The story was written while Tolkien was an undergraduate student, and elements of the story later appeared in Tolkien's other work, notably in the character of Tirin Turambar from The Silmarillion. "Kullervo" is based on the story of Kalevala from Finnish mythology.

The story will be published in the United Kingdom on August 27, 2015 and in the United States on April 5, 2016.
