Decade-long case involved Google creating digital copies of millions of books from major libraries to be made available for search

Google is not violating copyright laws by digitizing books for a vast online library, a federal appeals court ruled on Friday in a decade-long dispute.

The 2nd US circuit court of appeals in Manhattan agreed with a judge who concluded that the snippets Google showed customers from its database did not violate copyright laws.
