One-Legged Paralympian Josh Sunquist Debuts His Hilarious Anthropomorphic IHOP Sign Costume
Josh Sundquist, a Paralympian and author who lost one of his legs to cancer when he was young, is known for his sense of humor and his fabulous Halloween costumes that specifically address his missing limb. Sundquist once again hit it out of the park with his "anthropomorphic IHOP sign", the gag being a "classic amputee joke".
I've always dealt with the social discomfort of my disability by having a sense of humor. "But now I'm more comfortable with who I am and what I look like, and I guess with these Halloween costumes you could even say that I celebrate what makes me different. Which may be either weird or refreshing, depending on your perspective. "They are a joint-taskforce creation between my assistant Lisa and me. We toss around ideas for a few months about different costumes and how they could be constructed. She does all the heavy-crafting. She's a licensed carpenter, among many other talents.
