The maiden flight of the JB-9, said to be the world's first personal jetpack. Developed by Australian entrepreneur David Mayman, the pack has been cleared for flight by the US Federal Aviation Administration and is powered by adapted jet engines. The debut, which took place on 3 November, involved flying past the Statue of Liberty with the New York skyline as a backdrop.
