Wild's Koivu sent to hospital after crashing into boards

Minnesota Wild forward Mikko Koivu has been sent to a local hospital after a first-period collision during Tuesday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Koivu was knocked down by Blue Jackets defenseman David Savard, sending him sliding backwards into the end boards. The 32-year-old slowly returned to the bench under his own power.

The Wild captain leads his team with 22 assists and 32 points this season.
