Chase Elliott won Stage 1, his third stage victory at Talladega and first of the season. Aric Almirola beat out Elliott for the Stage 2 win in a photo finish. There was 8 total cautions and the race ended with an overtime finish. Kyle Busch crossed the finish line as cars crashed behind him. The race ended under caution after Bubba Wallace got around following contact from Ryan Blaney. Blaney finished second while Chase Briscoe placed third. The victory marks Busch's second of the year and first at Talladega in 15 years.

Atlanta United and Chicago Fire FC faced off in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Both teams presented a slow start to the match with no shots on goal until the 13th minute. After a beautiful pass by Brooks Lennon, Giorgos Giakoumakis scored from the center of the box to the bottom left corner for Atlanta United to take a 1-0 lead. Moving into the 2nd half, the score remained 1-0, but Chicago’s possession picked up and they managed to score in the 90th minute when Kacper Przybylko finessed a right-footed shot from the center of the box. In the ninth minute of stoppage time, Atlanta United sealed their victory after an unfortunate own goal in Chicago’s net. The score would finish 2-1.
