The Phoenix Suns made a statement in a blowout Game 2 win over the Denver Nuggets. Phoenix led by 10 at halftime and proceeded to outscore Denver by another 15 in the second half. Nuggets' head coach Mike Malone was less than pleased with his team’s performance, saying quote 'I felt we quit tonight, which is something you never want to see. For Game 3, I'm just going to try to find guys who will go out there and leave it all on the line. These two games, these second halves have been disappointing and that's an understatement.' The Los Angeles Angels scored three runs in the sixth inning to stretch their lead from 2-1 to 5-1 and they didn’t look back from there in a 6-1 win. Anthony Rendon doubled in two runs in the win, which gave L.A. a three-game sweep.

The Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Pittsburgh Pirates, 2-1. Justin Turner provided the offense with two long home runs giving him 11 on the year.

The Toronto Blue Jays trailed the Chicago White Sox, 2-1, but scratched across three runs in the eighth thanks to a bases loaded walk and fielder’s choice and added two insurance runs in the ninth to win, 6-2. Randal Grichuk also homered in the victory.

The Washington Nationals and Tampa Bay Rays headed for extra innings tied, 5-5, and weren’t done scoring. Washington took a 7-5 lead in the 10th only for the Rays to knot it up, 7-7, and send it to the 11th. After scoring a pair of runs again in the 11th, the Nationals were able to hold on, 9-7, closing the deal in the final frame. Superstar Juan Soto homered in the win.

The New York Yankees handled the Minnesota Twins, 9-6. Giancarlo Stanton hit a pair of home runs and drove in five total runs. Gerrit Cole went six innings striking out nine.

With two more long balls on Wednesday night, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O’Neill is now just three home runs off the league lead with 15. His pair of round trippers helped St. Louis to an 8-2 win over the Cleveland Indians.

The Colorado Rockies held off the Miami Marlins to win, 4-3. The Marlins made it interesting by loading the bases in the bottom of the ninth, but they ultimately failed to tie or win the game.

The Seattle Mariners recorded five runs in the top of the 11th to edge the Detroit Tigers, 9-6. Kyle Seager sparked the Mariners’ offense in the sixth with the three-run home run.

The Houston Astros dominated the Boston Red Sox, 8-3. The Astros recorded 17 hits in the win over the Red Sox. Jose Altuve hit his 10th home run of the season.

The Philadelphia Phillies got a walk-off home run from recent call-up Luke Williams, who took Will Smith deep to give the Phillies the 2-1 victory after getting his first hit earlier in the game.

Kevin Pillar and Billy McKinney each hit a pair of home runs as the New York Mets blew out former ace Matt Harvey and the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night, 14-1. Pete Alonso and Mason Williams also went deep in the victory.

The Chicago Cubs beat the San Diego Padres, 3-1, on Wednesday afternoon thanks to home runs by Joc Pederson and Sergio Alcantara. Starter Jake Arrieta went five innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out six. Closer Craig Kimbrel shut the door once again in the ninth.

The Oakland Athletics beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-0 and swept their two-game set. A controversial call by the umpires cost the Diamondbacks the lead when Starling Marte caught a ball in the outfield and came away from the wall. The ball popped out of his glove, and it was ruled a dropped ball allowing two A's runs to score.

The NBA announced Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic was named MVP yesterday, getting 91 of the 100 first-place votes to win in a landslide. Jokic became the first center since Shaq to win the award, and is also the lowest draft pick-- 41st overall in 2014 -- to ever get the honor. Philadelphia 76ers' big man Joel Embiid finished 2nd in overall voting, and admitted last night that the loss was quote 'disappointing.' But, he went on to say that he’s got bigger team priorities, adding 'If and when I'm holding that [Larry O'Brien] Trophy, anything else won't matter.' Yesterday, a map went viral that used twitter data from the past month to show each state’s most hated NBA player. And, not surprisingly, Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James was the most disliked baller in 24 states as well as the most hated overall. Kyrie Irving came in second, with 18 states disapproving of the Brooklyn Nets point guard, followed by his teammates James Harden and Kevin Durant with 3 states each.
