Advania and Stockholm Exergi have joined in partnership for the construction of a new HPC data center in Stockholm, Sweden. Researchers at Predictive Science, Inc. are using the the Comet Supercomputer at SDSC for Flu Forecasting Models. Today Eni announced plans to deploy the world's largest industrial supercomputer at its Green Data Center in Italy. Called "HPC5," the new system from Dell EMC will triple the computing power of their existing HPC4 system. The combined machines will have a total peak power of 70 Petaflops. Researchers are beginning a three-year cross-institute project that aims to lower the barrier to entry for software engineers developing new high-performance applications on large scale parallel systems.
