Take a look at Radeon R9 390X cards from Sapphire and Asus
AMD promised that its 300-series Radeons would become available today during its "New Era of PC Gaming" event earlier this week. We've already covered cards ranging from the R7 360 to the R9 380, but today marks our first look at the range-topping R9 390 and R9 390X.As with the rest of the Radeon 300-series cards, the 390 and 390X feature largely similar specs to the Radeon R9 290 and R9 290X before them. That makes sense, since they're all based on the same Hawaii silicon. Boost clocks ...Read more...
Lian-Li computer desks put regular cases to shame
Pfft, computer cases. That's old hat. What you need these days is a computer desk, and Lian Li just added two models to its desk chassis lineup: the DK-Q2, and its fancier cousin, the DK-03.
Etc.
Wow. I came here to write an Etc. post, and Jeff had already written something that nicely explains what's going on. Makes my job easier. The short version is that Geoff Gasior is leaving us after a long and productive tenure of 13 years. That comes not too long after Cyril departed after nine years of service. One of the few problems with being able to retain good people for a really long time is that folks tend to make a big deal out of it when someone leaves. So long, and thanks for all the gerbils
I started contributing to TR while attending university, mostly to score the latest PC hardware without eating into my ramen budget. Little did I know my geeky hobby would eventually turn into a full-time job. Scott ended up offering me a position after graduation, and I'm grateful for the opportunity. In the 13 years since, I've had the privilege of working with really smart, talented people while knee-deep in cutting-edge technology—mostly while sitting at home in my underwear. It's been a heck of a ride, but I've decided that it's time to ...Read more...

We've seen some neat demonstrations based on Nvidia's PhysX FleX particle-based materials simulation library in the past few months, but the technology doesn't seem to have been used in an actual game—until now. Hold on to your lunch, courtesy of this image from Nvidia:...Read more...

EVGA shrinks the Supernova G2 PSU to 550W and 650W
We recommend EVGA's Supernova G2 PSUs in our System Guide, but the series has previously bottomed out at 750W—perfect for our top-end builds, but overkill for less demanding systems. EVGA is filling in the gap with a pair of new Supernova G2s: one pumping out 650W, the other a more modest 550W. Those figures are more in line with the needs of our Budget Box and Sweet Spot builds. ...Read more...
