Microsoft shows how cloud is a failure with answers.microsoft.com dead for hours

Do you trust the cloud? What happens when The Cloud is offline? Today Microsoft is demonstrating for the world how one of the biggest tech companies is unable to keep its services available. For the last few hours the Microsoft answers site has effectively been offline with all pages from http://answers.microsoft.com/ throwing an error message "We are currently experiencing an issue causing connectivity issues with our services. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible". Given that this is Microsoft, who have as close to unlimited resources as possible without actually being Google, are unable to keep their service online what will we do when our data in The Cloud is inaccessible?
