Although Intel leads in unit sales, it is rapidly losing market revenue in the high-end CPU segment to AMD. Intel reported a $2.9B loss in Q2 2025, leading to mass layoffs and significant downsizing. Lack of innovation and adaptability are the main reasons behind Intel's downfall, as the CEO acknowledged the company isn't one of the world's top 10 semiconductor manufacturers as of now.
