Upon further review: The Nintendo Switch’s lackluster online features

When we first reviewed the Nintendo Switch hardware last week, we noted that our evaluation was partially incomplete. That's because all of the system's online capabilities (plus a few other features) were only activated by a "Day One" downloadable update. We've now had a chance to download and play around with that update over the weekend, so consider this a quick addendum to last week's review.

Getting online with the Switch means linking one of the eight local user accounts on the system to an online-focused Nintendo Account. That process is different from the old Nintendo Network ID account you may have used to log in to previous Nintendo consoles, but you can at least merge the accounts to transfer any outstanding eShop balances from one to the other.
