Ars Technica is hiring! We are looking for an exceptional Web developer to join our small but fast-paced tech team. The ideal candidate will be a technology generalist and have experience in a number of areas, from dev-ops to front-end. You should be very comfortable self-directing and prioritizing your daily workload. You can work remotely from anywhere in the United States and expect to take on an array of projects. You should have strong experience with:

  • PHP, including modern OO patterns and frameworks
  • Front-end development, including HTML5, Javascript, CSS3, SASS/LESS
  • Linux server config, shell navigation, log analysis, and troubleshooting
  • WordPress theme and plugin architecture
  • MySQL and/or generic SQL-you should understand basic database design and how to write effective queries
