China on track for over $1 trillion One Belt One Road investment by 2021

China One Belt, One Road is promising more than $1 trillion in infrastructure and spanning more than 60 countries from now to 2021.

* power plants in Pakistan are part of an expected $46 billion worth of investment
* tunnels and bridges and a 260-mile railway in Laos is a $6 billion project
* hundreds of other projects across Asia, Africa and Europe
* a third of the $23.7 billion cost of the UK Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant
* about $50 billion in investment has been deployed so far

The Asian Development Bank estimated that emerging Asian economies need $1.7 trillion per year in infrastructure to maintain growth, tackle poverty and respond to climate change.
