LOS ANGELES-Shortly after his employer introduced the brand-new Xbox One X, Forza game series producer Dan Greenawalt stepped on stage to confirm what had been assumed, and even leaked, in advance: Forza Motorsport 7 is coming to all Xbox One systems and Windows 10 PCs on October 3. The game will be the first in the "mainline" Forza series to launch on Windows 10.

To add some more sizzle to the expected announcement, Greenawalt introduced a previously unannounced Porsche car to the E3 demonstration crowd: a Porsche 2018 911 GT2 RS. "Like the Xbox One X, it's a monster," Greenawalt said about his shiny on-stage friend.

Forza Motorsport 7's debut included visual perks that are apparent even without an Xbox One X-friendly 4K TV, including rain, mud, and noticeable particle effects. Members of the crowd could watch separate gameplay feeds during the game's introduction, including a drive through a rainy Ni1/4rburgring.
