Country music star Garth Brooks will be in Tacoma for three nights-Friday through Sunday-for concerts expected to draw over 100,000 fans. To accommodate the influx of fans, who have sold out all three days at the Tacoma Dome, Sound Transit will run special Sounder service on Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4. In addition to these runs, regular service on Sunday, November 5 for a Seahawks game will give Sounder one of its rare weeks with full seven-day service (albeit with limited service).

On Friday, November 3, a northbound Sounder train will run from Tacoma Dome Station to Seattle approximately 30 minutes after the end of the concert.

On Saturday, November 3, there will be two southbound trains to Tacoma Dome Station from Seattle departing at 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. A connecting North Line train from Everett will depart at 9:50 a.m., allowing riders to transfer to the first southbound train at King Street. Northbound trains will leave Tacoma Dome Station approximately 30 minutes after the end of both concerts, with an additional train from Seattle to Everett after the 2 p.m. concert. Sound Transit expects to use full-size 7-car trains to accommodate expected demand between Seattle and Tacoma.

Tacoma Link will also run extended hours on all three days, Friday through Sunday, with trains until midnight. Sunday service will also be boosted to 12-minute frequencies on Sundays between noon and midnight. Sound Transit Express Route 594 will also operate additional turnback service between Tacoma and Lakewood Station every 15 minutes about two hours before concert time and after concerts based on demand.

Even if you're not a country music fan, this Saturday might be a nice time to take a rail-assisted day trip to Tacoma. Or avoid it altogether, as congestion is expected to be chaotic the entire weekend.
