In re: Sssotlohiefmjn v. Michigan State Police
It was called to my attention this morning that there might be an error in one of the citations appearing on the Comical Case Names page, and having reviewed the matter, I am embarrassed to say that this appears to be true. The previous citation was:
I Am The Beast Six Six Six of the Lord of Hosts in Edmond Frank MacGillivray Jr. Now. I Am The Beast Six Six Six of the Lord of Hosts IEFMJN. I Am The Beast Six Six Six of the Lord of Hosts. I Am The Beast Six Six Six of the Lord of Hosts OTLOHIEFMJN. I Am The Beast SSSOTLOHIEFMJN. I Am The Beast Six Six Six. Beast Six Six Six Lord v. Michigan State Police, et al., File No. 5:89:92, 1990 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 8792 (W.D. Mich. July 12, 1990).
The citation should be:
I Am The Beast Six Six Six of the Lord of Hosts in Edmond Frank MacGillivray Jr Now. I Am The Beast Six Six Six of the Lord of Hosts IEFMJN. I Am The Beast Six Six Six of the Lord of Hosts. I Am The Beast Six Six Six OTLOHIEFMJN. I Am The Beast SSSOTLOHIEFMJN. I Am The Beast Six Six Six. Beast Six Six Six Lord v. Michigan State Police, et al., File No. 5:89:92, 1990 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 8792 (W.D. Mich. July 12, 1990).
This has been corrected, and the responsible parties fired.
I note for the record that some uncertainty remains. See, e.g., People v. Sssotlohiefmjn, No. E047144, 2010 WL 219336, at *1 n.1 (Cal. App. Jan. 22, 2010) (noting stipulation that party had changed his legal name in 1988 to "Iamthebeast Sssotlohiefmjn"). The citation above now matches the case name that appears in the Lexis report, however. (Westlaw, for some reason, chose not to include the earlier matter in its database.)
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
