Today's Dealmaster is headlined by a $10 pre-order discount on Doom Eternal, the long-anticipated first-person shooter game that (officially) launches tomorrow.
This offer has been available at Walmart and Amazon for a few weeks, but we expect the game to jump up to the standard $60 going rate for new releases once it hits shelves tomorrow. The retailers have discounted pre-orders for a number of big-name games over the past several months-the much-hyped Cyberpunk 2077, for instance, is $10 off as well-but we're comfortable spotlighting this deal since we reviewed Doom Eternal very favorably earlier this week.
You can read that write-up for more details, but in short, Ars Senior Gaming Editor Kyle Orland called the game "a thrilling return to form and a high-water mark for fast-paced twitch shooting." A couple of boss fights can be a drag, and some first-person platforming sections aren't great, but for the most part Doom Eternal's frenetic running-and-gunning is a rush. The whole thing is like the video game version of an '80s hair metal album cover.
