Boris Johnson has been warned that failure to stick to the government's levelling-up agenda will add to the already serious economic problems faced by Britain's manufacturing heartlands.
A new report from the industrial communities alliance (ICA) - an all-party group representing local authorities in the industrial regions of England, Scotland and Wales - said the prime minister should resist pressure to water down promised support.
