Senior dies of injuries after being hit on Queenston Road early this week
An 86-year-old Hamilton man has died of his injuries after being hit crossing Queenston Road earlier this week.
Hamilton police said they were made aware Friday morning that the man died in hospital. His name has not been released.
His death marks the 13th traffic fatality in Hamilton this year and fourth pedestrian killed.
The 86-year-old was struck around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, as he was attempting to cross to the north side of Queenston, just west of Parkdale Avenue, police said.
He was hit by a westbound vehicle. The driver immediately stopped, contacted police and has been co-operative with investigators.
Speed and driver impairment were not factors in the crash, police said.
