Anthony Albanese has bemoaned the fact the 2022 campaign is more focussed on soundbites rather than philosophies and values" - a trend he says is alienating Australian voters and boosting support for political disrupters.

The Labor leader appeared solo on the ABC's Q&A program on Thursday night to field questions from the audience, while Scott Morrison fronted another program on Sky News at the same time.
