NSW treasurer joins transport minister, David Elliott, in running for senior party role after Stuart Ayres resigned

The New South Wales treasurer, Matt Kean, has confirmed he will seek the deputy leadership of the state's Liberal party after the resignation of Stuart Ayres from the position.

Kean will throw his hat in the ring for the job, potentially running against the transport minister, David Elliott, who has said he would run.
