Warraber Island man was found clinging to debris on Wednesday after stormy conditions hampered search on Tuesday night

A man has survived 20 hours at sea in the Torres Strait, clinging to a piece of debris, in what Queensland police have described as a Christmas miracle.

The 31-year-old Warraber Island man's vessel capsized after being hit by a wave between Getullia Island and Sue Island in the Torres Strait.
