An attempt to summons a Liberal party operative and property developer to a parliamentary probe into alleged impropriety" at a Sydney council was interrupted by a police raid connected to a multimillion-dollar fraud investigation taking place at the same time, according to a New South Wales inquiry.
The parliamentary inquiry on Thursday slammed the lengths taken by some witnesses to avoid appearing before it and announced it had referred its findings to the Independent Commission Against Corruption (Icac).
