Significant change is required for Australia to be a truly inclusive society for people with disabilities, who continue to experience high rates of violence and abuse, multiple forms of neglect, and sexual and financial exploitation", a royal commission has found.
The final report of the royal commission into violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability was made public on Friday after four-and-a-half years of hearings, reports, submissions and powerful testimony from people with disabilities and their loved ones.
