The independent Queensland MP at the helm of a crucial parliamentary inquiry into youth crime has urged the state government to consider resurrecting boot camps for young offenders, which were first introduced under the former premier Campbell Newman.
Noosa MP Sandy Bolton, Queensland's only independent parliamentarian, was picked by the government to chair the youth justice reform committee amid significant political and media attention on the issue.
