New Conservatives group says reshuffle indicates major change in policy direction after sacking of Suella Braverman
Rishi Sunak has been accused by a group of red wall" and rightwing Conservatives of abandoning the voters who brought the party to power in 2019.
The warning shot was fired in a statement issued by the MPs Miriam Cates and Danny Kruger, the co-chairs of the New Conservatives group, as anger among some backbenchers grew over the sacking of Suella Braverman and the return to government of David Cameron.
