New South Wales police should undergo mandatory training concerning the LGBTQ+ community and the investigation of possible hate crimes, a landmark inquiry has recommended.
All unsolved homicide cases spanning 40 years from 1970 should also be reviewed to identify cases that could be solved with forensic breakthroughs, the inquiry's report released on Thursday said.
