The Albanese government has announced that former New South Wales Liberal treasurer Matt Kean will lead the Climate Change Authority in a surprise cross-party appointment that follow's Kean's sudden resignation from state politics.
The prime minister, Anthony Albanese, revealed the appointment on Monday at a news conference with Kean and federal climate change minister, Chris Bowen.
