Butterflies are delicate, but also tough

For the first time, scientists have evidence suggesting the painted lady butterfly can make the 2,600-mile trek across the Atlantic Ocean, from West Africa to South America, without stopping. In this week's issue of Nature Communication, a team of scientists describes how it made the discovery by studying pollen grains found on the insects.
