Aaron Govendir originally told police his Dover Heights home had been broken into and he was knocked unconscious, but police have new allegations on wife's cold-case killing

After spending one night behind bars, a Sydney man accused of violently murdering his wife 26 years ago and making up a false home invasion story to cover it up has been granted bail.

In March 1998, Aaron Govendir told police he was knocked unconscious by an unknown man who entered their Dover Heights home posing as a police officer before bludgeoning his wife, Denise, to death and stealing their car.
