In the Canadian Province of British Columbia, a new intervention measure will force people with concurrent mental health issues and drug addiction to receive treatment. In a recent press conference, the premier of British Columbia David Eby said this expansion of involuntary care is as much a public safety precaution as it is a public health measure.
