Israeli strikes on Lebanon leave hundreds dead

Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon today killed more than 356 people and injured at least 1,200 others. It marks a major escalation of the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, which have continuously traded fire for months. The US also announced it was increasing troop levels in the region in response to the attack.
