Police in Townsville have launched a homicide investigation after discovering the body of a 47-year-old woman during a welfare check on Monday.
In a statement, police said they were called to a unit on Chandler Street in Garbutt - a suburb of Townsville close to the city's airport and RAAF base - at about 1.45pm on Monday.
