UN plastics treaty talks collapse

A gathering of more than 200 nations that convened to reach a landmark agreement on ending plastic pollution broke down on Monday without achieving its goal. The talks in Busan, South Korea, collapsed due to pressure from oil-rich nations who argued that plastic production should not be phased out.
