Mauro Morandi, the sole caretaker of a Mediterranean island off Sardinia for over three decades, has died at age 85. Known as Italy's Robinson Crusoe," Morandi chronicled his life alone on the pink sands of Budelli from 1985 until 2021, when he left under threat of eviction by authorities.
